Australia’s greatest Labor figures, including Paul Keating and Bob Carr, as well as those who are currently rising through the party including Tony Burke, Carmel Tebbutt, David Bradbury, Jason Clare and Michelle Rowland all have one thing in common - they were part of Young Labor.

The Young Labor Youth Council was formed in 1948 and is now today one of the largest and active political youth organisations in the country. You can read a speech in NSW Parliament on the organisation's 50th anniversary.

Being involved in Young Labor gives you a taste of the world of politics. Many members of Young Labor go on to successful careers in politics, the union movement, the corporate sector or community organisations using the skills they learn.

As a member of NSW Young Labor you are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the organisation. From a local level to being involved in state and national conferences, you have the chance to be a
